Montgomery, Alabama – Montgomery police are investigating the capital city's latest homicide.

19 year old Terrance Ponder is dead after being shot in his head and back. Police believe Ponder and another teenaged man were shot during a shootout that happened while the victims and the suspects were driving on the West South Boulevard Saturday night.

Police say 19 year old Steve Arrington was shot in his thigh while he was driving on the Boulevard near Narrow Lane Road around 11 o'clock Saturday night. Arrington says a dark, late model SUV pulled alongside his vehicle, and someone inside the vehicle began firing striking him and Ponder.

Ponder died Sunday morning of his injuries. Arrington's injuries are described as non-life threatening.
