The Montgomery Election Center staff is in overdrive getting ready for the upcoming special election. This election is distinct in that 33 of the County’s 49 precincts will have two ballots to fill out. Probate Judge Steven Reed says one election is for the U-S Senate Seat between Republican Roy Moore and Democrat Doug Jones, and the other is between five candidates running for a state senate seat. Reed also noted that voters will be greeted with new machines this year. Each precinct has two of the ExpressVote machines that are anticipated to read votes faster. Montgomery County is the first to use the new devices.
