Missing Millbrook Woman Found Dead

A missing person's case out of Millbrook has turned into a homicide investigation.  Millbrook Police have arrested the son of a missing woman and charged him with murder.  Authorities say 27-year-old Sedrick Clayton of Millbrook is charged with killing his 49-year-old mother, Anita Washington.  Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said investigators learned Clayton, who was arrested late Friday night, was the last person to see Washington and were told their relationship had been strained.  Washington was reported missing last Wednesday.  Millbrook Police believe a body found wrapped in a sheet in the Sandtown area is Washington.  Results of an autopsy are pending.  Sedrick Clayton remains in the Elmore County Jail without bond. 

Folmar Remembered

Montgomery's former first Lady Anita Folmar has died at the age of 84.  Folmar's granddaughter Emily Flowers says Anita Folmar died at her home of natural causes.  Trinity Presbyterian Church will host Folmar's memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday.  The mayor has ordered all city flags to be flown at half-staff today in memory of Anita Folmar. 

Robbery Suspect Captured

CrimeStoppers of Central Alabama is giving credit to citizen involvement for helping Wetumpka Police nab a robbery suspect.  The case involves the August 9th robbery of a CVS on U.S. 231 North.  CrimeStoppers Director Tony Garrett said the suspect's photo captured on surveillance video resulted in tips that led to the arrest of 51-year-old Kenneth Wayne Adair of Wetumpka.  Authorities also said Adair is a suspect in similar crimes in the River Region. 

DUI Campaign

Law enforcement officials in six states, including Alabama, are launching their 23rd annual "Hands Across the Border" campaign aimed at catching motorists driving under the influence.  Sunday is the official start of the six-day campaign, which includes law enforcement agencies in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.  Police, sheriff's deputies and state trooper's will be setting up checkpoints near their state borders.  The legal blood alcohol limit in every state is .08.
