Longtime Stillman College president dies

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – - Longtime Stillman College president and
Tuscaloosa community leader Cordell Wynn has died at a Tuscaloosa
nursing home. He was 83.
Wynn was president of Stillman for 15 years beginning in 1982.
Enrollment at the predominantly black liberal arts school almost
doubled to more than 1,000 students under his leadership.
A native of Eatonton, Ga., Wynn was dean of education at Alabama
A&M when was named president of Stillman. The Tuscaloosa college
was losing enrollment at the time and there was talk it might be
