Legislature Approves Budget Despite Governor's Objections

Montgomery, Alabama –
(AP) - Votes Thursday as the Alabama House, on
a 59-38 vote, overrode Gov. Bob Riley's changes to the General Fund
budget. Voting yes were 1 Republican and 58 Democrats. Voting no
were 37 Republicans and 1 Democrat. Not voting were 5 Republicans
and 2 Democrats. Abstaining were 0 Republicans and 0 Democrats.
