A Montgomery man will serve life in prison without parole following his conviction in a capital murder case. District Attorney Daryl Bailey said a circuit jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday against 28-year-old Enrico Cornley. The DA said Cronley was convicted of killing 19-year-old Roy Buskey in November 2013 at his Virginia Downs residence. Testimony showed the victim was shot in the chest in an argument over a cell phone. Jurors rejected Cornley's claim of self-defense and that he is mentally impaired.
Pilot Killed
A pilot was killed Thursday night when a single-engine airplane crashed near the Shelby County Airport. Authorities in Shelby County said the pilot was practicing landings on a runway when the single-engine place went down just after 7 p.m. in Calera. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
New Design
Hyundai's popular Elantra compact car is getting a new look. Al.com reports the Korean automaker recently revealed a few details about the re-designed Elantra car which is manufactured in Montgomery. The redesigned Elantra will be unveiled in the fall at the Los Angeles auto show.
