Governors vow to find solution to water-sharing

By Governors meet to discuss impasse over water-sharing

Montgomery, AL – - The governors of Georgia, Alabama and
Florida predict they will have a solution to the three-state water
sharing dispute before they leave office in one year.
But they provided no details on what a solution might look like.
The three governors met for nearly two hours Tuesday in
Montgomery.
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue said afterward that it would be
shameful if they did not reach a solution and left the
two-decades-old battle to new governors.
It was the first time in two years that the three governors have
met on the issue. The next step is for negotiating teams to develop
an agreement that the three governors can present to their state
legislatures in the spring.
