Fourth Suspect Arrested

The Elmore County Sheriff's office said a fourth suspect is behind bars today charged in connection with two recent home invasion case.  Sheriff's officials said 16-year-old Maurice Wilkes of Deatsville faces robbery and burglary charges for his alleged role in a home invasion that occurred March 20th in the Wallsboro Community.  Wilkes is charged as an adult.  His bond was set at $100,000.  Three other suspects linked to the home invasion robberies were also arrested this week. 

Plane Crash

Authorities in Georgia have identified the two people killed in a plane crash near the Georgia coastline as a former Prattville man and a Florida man.  The victims were identified as 31-year-old Adam Christopher Griffis, who was a citizen of Chile and a former resident of Prattville and 28-year-old Andres Santiago Lopez.  The Piper aircraft was flying from Concord, North Carolina, to Jacksonville, Florida, when it went missing from radar Monday in an area near Brunswick, Georgia.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Bodies Recovered

Authorities in Colorado have recovered the bodies of five people from Alabama who were killed last Saturday when a single-engine plan flying from Gadsden crashed into a Colorado reservoir.  The victims and the wreckage of the plane were recovered from the reservoir Thursday.
