Four Die in Talladega Fatal Accident

A two-vehicle crash in Talladega County claimed the lives of four people Saturday.  State Troopers say an SUV and a pickup truck collided on Alabama Highway 21 near Winterboro.  Four of the five people in the SUV were killed.  They have been identified by police as 38-year-old Leiah Gatlin Watts of Munford, 73-year-old Evelyn Foshee Watts also of Munford, 73-year-old Melda Fay Howard of Lincoln and 78-year-old Mary Anna Burgess Adair of Lincoln.  The driver of the pickup was not injured.  Troopers continue to investigate the accident.

After graduating from Alabama State University, she worked as a production assistant at the local NBC affiliate, WSFA-TV. As a News Director at WVAS-FM, Melanie leads her team to produce award- winning newscasts and talk shows. Her professional achievements includes News Reporter of the Year for a number of years and awards for talk show producer, by the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press. She is an active member of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. Her goals are to expand the reach of WVAS FM into more homes locally, regionally and nationally.
