Fight Not Over for Banned Montgomery Pastor

An Alabama minister was back in court Monday, fighting to keep his job after confessing he had affairs with several church members and did not tell them he has AIDS.  Circuit Judge Charles Price says he'll rule within a week on whether the Rev. Juan McFarland can return to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery or whether a temporary ban from the church will become permanent.  

Labor Laws

The National Labor Relations Board has upheld a ruling that Mercedes violated federal labor laws by stopping United Auto Workers union supporters from handing out literature inside its Alabama plant.  The ruling by the three-member panel ordered Mercedes to update its employee handbook to say that workers are allowed to discuss union issues during non-work times and that they may solicit their colleagues in mixed-use areas like team centers and atriums.  

ASU Lady Hornets

The Alabama State University Lady Hornets Volleyball team has been named the SWAC champions for the second year in a row and are now moving on to play the Florida Gators.  The Lady Hornets face off against the Gators on Friday December 7th at 7 p.m.  ASU Head Volleyball Coach, Penny Lucas-White, says her girls are excited about their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament.  The ASU Lady Hornets beat Southern last week in Baton Rouge to claim the SWAC title.
