Federal Judge Dismisses Moore's Lawsuit

U-S District Judge Harold Albritton has thrown out Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore’s lawsuit against the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission. The federal judge dismissed the suit in an order Thursday. The Alabama Court of the Judiciary is considering judicial ethics charges that could lead to Moore's ouster, and Albritton writes that the state process should continue without federal court interference. Moore sued the Commission in May saying it violated his rights by suspending him when it filed the ethics charges. Moore asked Albritton to let him resume work as chief justice. The commission accused Moore of violating judicial ethics with an order to state probate judges about the dispute over gay marriage.
