Elba Flooding Relief Plans

The Coffee County Emergency Management Agency and the City of Elba met Monday to discuss how the public can receive help from the severe flooding that took place during the week of Christmas.  Mayor Mickey Murdock says nearly 140 homes and two businesses were damaged in the flooding.  The 211 number, which is now manned by local operators, can offer direction to people who need food, lodging, clean clothes and other supplies.  Volunteers are needed at this time, that are willing to perform physical labor.  Anyone wishing to volunteer should report to the Elba Church of Christ to receive credentials.
