Double Arrest

A pair of brothers has been charged in a fatal shooting from Friday night in Montgomery.  Police say 29-year-old Michael Sankey and 27-year-old Christopher Sankey are each charged with one count of capital murder and second-degree assault in the death of 25-year-old Derrick Varner and the wounding of another man.  Both the victims and the suspects are from Montgomery.  The incident reportedly happened in the 1700 block of South Holt Street when an argument broke out among the group.  The Sankey brothers are being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond. 

Hyundai Unveiling

It was a big day for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama as the 2015 Sonata was revealed at the New York Auto Show.  The Sonata mid-size sedan is made at Hyundai's Montgomery plant.  Spokesman Robert Burns says the reception for the car's new refined design was enthusiastic.  Burns says full production of the new Sonata will begin next month in Montgomery.  The car should reach dealerships near the end of June. 

World's Widest Yard Sale

The World's Widest Yard Sale kicks off Friday.  The two-day event features local farmers markets, arts and crafts and hidden treasures from Georgia to Texas.  Ron Sparks, director of Rural Development for Alabama says this is a great opportunity to showcase the area.  Friday marks the 3rd consecutive year for the World's Widest Yard Sale. 

Twins Day

It was Twins Day at T.S. Morris Elementary School in Montgomery.  The school has twelve sets of twins, from Kindergarten through Fifth grade.  April 16th is now proclaimed as "Twins Day" at the school.
