The District 26 State Senate race goes to a runoff

   Montgomery County voters also had to vote in the District 26 State Senate primary. The results indicate that race is headed to a runoff between Democrats John Knight and David Burkette. State Representative Knight reportedly garnered around 39 percent of the vote while Burkette claimed 25 percent. Long lines were seen at many of the District 26 precincts. The runoff for the state senate seat is scheduled for February 27. D.J. Johnson was the lone Republican in the race. A general election is being held May 15th.
