Crimes of Opportunity

Officials with the Montgomery Police Department say crimes of opportunity are more prevalent during the summer months than any other time of the year.  MPD is urging residents who are traveling this summer to consider the safety of their home as they're booking that next cruise or flight.  MPD Corporal David Hicks says Montgomery residents can relax during their summer getaway with the help of the Montgomery Police Department. 

VA Emails

A newspaper reports that emails is obtained show the director of the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System learned of concerns about patient scheduling issues in April 2013, more than eight months before action was taken.  Director James Talton tells the Montgomery Advertiser that he was unable to take action on any "ambiguous statements" staff members emailed him about scheduling problems.

Bentley in London

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley is headed to London to attend the Farnborough Air Show.  Bentley says he will spend Sunday, Monday and Tuesday meeting with executives of aerospace companies.  Bentley says he hopes to wrap up two industrial projects for Alabama and make announcements while he's at the air show.
