Crime Rate Down

Montgomery's overall crime rate for the year is down ten percent compared to last year.

The announcement was made at Mayor Todd Strange's weekly media briefing. Strange says data driven enforcement, predictive policing and public participation all played a part in creating a safer city.

According to the mayor, felony cases are down 15 percent and violent crime fell to 6.7 percent with homicides being down by six percent.
