Birmingham Police Officer Faces Sex-related Charges

Birmingham, Alabama – BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A fired Birmingham police officer is
facing sex-related charges.
44-year-old Steve Drummer, a 9-year police veteran, was arrested
Thursday night and charged with sodomy and sexual abuse.
Police the charges stem from a complaint filed by a 20-year-old
woman who said she was sexually assaulted Sunday night.
No other details regarding the case was made public.
Drummer was placed in the Jefferson County Jail on $70,000 bond.
Its unclear if he has retained an attorney.
