Auburn University Employee Faces Multiple Charges

A lab technician at Auburn University has been arrested.   64-year-old Stephen Howard is accused of selling and distributing a date rape drug known as GHB.  U.S. Attorney George Beck says Howard had a license to order substances through the university.  Howard was arrested Friday;  if convicted could face up to 20 years in prison.  

Traffic Fatalities

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says seven people died in traffic accidents over the Memorial Day weekend.  State Troopers are investigating fatal crashes that included one pedestrian, two motorcycles and an all-terrain vehicle.  Traffic fatalities occurred in Clay, Lee, Mobile, Talladega, Tuscaloosa and Wilcox counties.  Also, the state Marine Patrol is investigating the death of a 23-year-old Wetumpka man who drowned in Lake Jordan Sunday afternoon.  

WVAS and HUD

A statewide Veterans Homeless Summit will be held on the Alabama State University campus Wednesday.  The summit's goal is to get veterans off the streets and into decent housing.  WVAS and HUD are co-sponsoring the event.  The Veterans Homeless Summit begins Wednesday at 10 a.m. and runs through 2 p.m. at the ASU Student Center, Ballroom C.
