ASU Welcomes New President

Montgomery, AL – Dr. William Harris is accepting the call to lead Alabama State University as its 11th president.

Harris, who has served in the capacity as interim president for a year, is returning to his old post following the resignation of Joe A. Lee last May.

President Harris previously served as ASU president from 1994 -2000.

Under Harris' leadership, ASU recently completed projects that include $1 million dollars to upgrade the ASU football practice field and the unveiling of the $30 million dollar Ralph David Abernathy Hall and $26.7 million dollar Life Science Building.
