Alabama EMA Tests Flood Warning System

The Alabama Emergency Management Agency has placed the latest gauge in its Flood Warning System in Covington County.  The system of 21 gauges in eight southern counties helps the agency measure rainfall and river levels using radar.  State EMA Director Art Faulkner says the device will allow for more precise river level readings.  Faulkner says the radar system means data can be collected without having to physically go out and measure the water, saving time, money and energy.  The latest gauge is located on the Yellow River bridge on Highway 84, between Opp and Andalusia.
