Ala troopers to enforce speeding, DUI laws over Memorial Day weekend

By Troopers to participate in "Take Back Our Highway initiative

Montgomery, Al – - Alabama state troopers are stepping up
patrols of Alabama highways through Memorial Day.
State Public Safety Director Christopher Murphy said extra
troopers from all divisions will be on Alabama highways from
Saturday through May 31 for another "Take Back Our Highways"
campaign.
The program began in 2007. Murphy says troopers will target
drunken driving, seat belt violations, speeding, following too
closely and improper lane change.
Alabama recorded 15 traffic deaths during last year's long
Memorial Day weekend. State troopers said at least five of the
deaths were alcohol-related.
