Montgomery, AL – (AP) - Heavy rains have prompted Alabama Power
to open spillway gates at its dams on the Coosa River.
The power company says gates were opened Monday morning at the
Weiss, Henry, Lay and Mitchell dams on the Coosa River. Spillway
gates were being opened Monday afternoon at Logan Martin and Jordan
dams.
The company also plans to open gates at the Harris Dam on the
Tallapoosa River.
In addition, Alabama Power says the drawdown scheduled to begin
this week on Lay Reservoir will be postponed until conditions allow
rescheduling.
