Ala AG seek dismissal of suits against drug store chains

By Ala. AG King ask judges to throw out suits against drug stores

Montgomery, AL – (AP) - Attorney General Troy King has asked
judges in five counties to throw out what he says are meritless
suits brought by the district attorneys in the counties.
King said Thursday the deceptive trade practices suits accuse
CVS Caremark Corp., Rite Aid Corp., Wal-Mart Stores and Walgreen
Co. of filling prescriptions with generic drugs when doctors had
not authorized the use of generics.
King said he's using his authority as the state's top attorney
to try to get the suits dismissed because he considers them
frivolous.
One was immediately dismissed in Colbert County. King said the
other counties with suits pending are Tallapoosa, Wilcox, Autauga
and Jefferson's Bessemer Division.
