AEA's New Leadership

The Alabama Education Association has hired a new executive director.  An AEA spokeswoman said in an email Saturday that Brenda Pike will start her new position on May 16th.  Pike serves as the executive director of the Indiana State Teachers Association.  Pike worked eight years as the assistant executive director for the Texas State Teachers Association before she was hired at the ISTA.  While at ISTA, Pike instituted robust membership and communication programs along with technological advancements to engage members and communities around improving public education and student learning.
