A federal judge has blocked an Alabama abortion regulation that could have permanently closed the state's busiest abortion clinic, saying the rule was unnecessary to protect women. Police in Auburn are seeking a burglar wanted for stealing cash after breaking into a Salvation Army donation center. The Opelika-Auburn New reports a video surveillance camera recorded images of the burglar. The Auburn Police Division says the man caused more than $1,000 in damage and took an undisclosed amount of money during the break-in Monday. Police says the suspect appears to about 30 to 40 years old and about 250 pounds. Video shows him in a purple shirt with blue jeans and white shoes.

Troy has hired former Southern Miss administrator Jeremy McClain as its athletic director. McClain was introduced Friday after three years as deputy director of athletics at Southern Miss. He replaces John Hartwell, who left in July to become vice president and athletic director at Utah State.
