2009 was wet year according to weather experts

By Forecasters say 2009 was wet year for much of Ala

Montgomery, AL – - New statistics show south and central
Alabama were the wettest parts of the state in 2009.
Figures released Tuesday by the National Weather Service office
in Birmingham show many areas in south Alabama received more than
80 inches of rain last year, and some got more than 90 inches of
precipitation.
Parts of Dale County received more than 91.6 inches of rain, the
most in the state.
The driest sections were in northwest corner of Alabama, where
precipitation totals were around 60 inches for the year, and
northeast Alabama.
Once plagued by dry conditions, the entire southeastern United
States is now free from drought.
